This module aims at providing a comparative overview and analysis of the political, economic and social transformation among Asian countries from the 19th century to the post-WWII period. The module gives a survey of the social and political changes in Asia. China, Japan and Korea are chosen for comparative analysis. Themes include the Western imperialism expansion, the anti-imperialism and nationalist resistances, and the different pathways of political, economic, and social changes.
