NG Hoi Tung Ocean (Class of 2025)

The Asian Studies Programme at HSUHK provided me with a strong social sciences foundation and invaluable research training during my four years of study. I actively participated in overseas opportunities, including a one-semester exchange in Nagoya (2023) and an internship at the HKTDC Tokyo Office (2024), which enhanced my Japanese skills and understanding of cultural diversity. Additionally, Honours Academy leadership activities broadened my global perspective. Currently, I am pursuing a Master’s degree in International Relations at Ritsumeikan University in Japan, focusing my research on migration and family-related issues. Looking ahead, I hope to contribute to academia through scholarly collaboration while preparing for a career in international affairs.

My undergraduate years studying Asian Studies at HSUHK laid an invaluable foundation for my academic journey. HSUHK’s rigorous academic environment and global perspective cultivated my capacity for interdisciplinary research and critical thinking. As a student from the Chinese Mainland, studying in Hong Kong has profoundly broadened my horizons, teaching me to adapt and thrive within a vibrant, multicultural society. Empowered by my alma mater, I progressed to a Master's in Behavioral Health at HKU, where I am currently pursuing my MPhil with plans for a PhD. I am deeply grateful to HSUHK for igniting my academic passion.

HUANG Yuheng (Class of 2026)

The Asian Studies programme provided me with deep insights into the history, politics, and cultures of various regions, while comprehensively sharpening my cross-cultural understanding and critical thinking. The rigorous research training not only deepened my knowledge of Asian societies but also ignited my strong passion for social sciences. Upon graduation, I successfully articulated into the Master of Public Policy and Management programme at The Education University of Hong Kong for further studies, dedicating myself to applying what I have learned to future social observations and policy research

LUK Chui Yan Yanny (Class of 2025)

I participated in an overseas exchange program in Sweden and attended a summer school course in Japan, where I engaged in intercultural communication with local communities and explored the local culture and customs. These experiences not only deepened my understanding of diverse cultures but also broadened my international perspective. Additionally, I interned at a Hong Kong government office in mainland China and at a nonprofit organization in Hong Kong, which helped me explore potential career paths. These valuable experiences enriched my professional knowledge and enhanced my sense of social responsibility.
