As a foundation course, this module introduces the studies of Asia to students with little or no background in the area. The module begins with a general survey of different sub-regions of Asia. It then highlights the important role of Asia in the world’s political and socioeconomic development. The module aims to equip students with analytical skills to a wide selection of literatures especially in comparative studies so as to facilitate further discussion of the larger ideas and issues among Asian societies.
