We are pleased to announce the result of the Asian Studies Outstanding Student Award for this year. The award recognizes students who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in both academic and non-academic pursuits in the field of Asian Studies. After careful consideration, the Programme has decided to award two students this year. year: Miss Tsang Ching Yan, Renee (Year 4) and Mr Leung Man Kit, Ray (Year 3).
Miss Tsang Ching Yan, Renee
Renee has shown well-rounded development throughout her four years of study. The panel was particularly impressed by her remarkable improvement in GPA, climbing from below 2.5 in her first year to above 3.5 in her final year. Despite the limitations imposed by the pandemic, Renee has consistently participated in internships, personal development, and community engagement. She has completed several internships with various organizations at different stages of her studies, discovering her passion for event management in cultural projects. Renee’s resilience and motivation for continuous personal exploration are truly commendable.
Mr Leung Man Kit, Ray
In addition to maintaining a satisfactory academic performance, Ray has strategically engaged in experiential learning opportunities that enrich his personal growth. The panel would like to especially commend Ray for his active involvement in local and overseas projects, forums, and internships. These experiences have helped him develop a critical perspective on understanding social issues within the Asian context and expand his social network, exposing him to a broader range of opportunities and resources. Ray has also demonstrated his commitment to driving social change by utilizing his social science knowledge in various policy advocacy projects.
