Asian Studies Outstanding Student Award 2025

We are pleased to announce the result of the Asian Studies Outstanding Student Award for this year. The award recognizes students who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in both academic and non-academic pursuits in the field of Asian Studies.

Chan Yuen Yi Valery

Valery has all-round development in her 4 years of studies. The panel is impressed with her ambition in challenging herself by jumping out of comfort zone for multicultural experience, through engaging in a wide variety of internships and overseas learning in Korea and Australia. Making use of her learning, Valery also contributed to the publicities of the Asian studies Programme by writing articles on the Programm’s social media platforms. With a remarkable ability to balance rigorous coursework, internships and extra-curricular activities, Valery embodies the qualities of a well-rounded model.

Mui Chun Yu Jayden

Jayden has unwavering dedication to his academic pursuit with excellence, as demonstrated from choosing to conduct whole-year independent research on Celebrity Political Engagement as his Senior thesis. Serving in the Students’ Association of Asian Studies, Jayden was also well-known among his fellow students for his commitment in building bonding and sense of belonging through organizing different activities. The panel is especially impressed by his boldness to take up challenges in his university journey and perseverance to confront them one by one for his personal growth.
